Turned from a hybrid blank of stabilized, green-dyed maple burl and translucent blue epoxy, this "one of one" vessel offers a striking contrast between organic texture and synthetic clarity. The translucent epoxy portion acts as a veiled window—smooth, luminous, and just transparent enough to suggest depth, as if peering into a quiet, submerged world.
The maple burl, stabilized for durability and dyed to a deep forest green, rises into the resin like a jagged coastline or submerged terrain. Its grain is unpredictable and rugged, its presence unmistakably alive. Though this piece was lathe-turned, its origin story includes hand-shaped predecessors—formed with angle grinders and sanding blocks, where every curve was coaxed rather than cut.
Finish: Sealed with polymerized walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax for a smooth, food-safe luster.
Care: Hand wash only. Refresh the finish occasionally with walnut oil or food-safe wood conditioner.
