Illinois Pecan Shot Glass — Small Batch
Dimensions: Approx. 2¼ inches tall × 1¾ inches in diameter
Price is for one individual shot glass. This listing began as a small batch of five closely related pieces. The photographs show the remaining glasses and their subtle differences in grain and color.
Each glass is handcrafted from Illinois-harvested pecan (Carya illinoinensis) purchased directly from the person who harvested it. The pieces share the same source and compact form, while natural variations in the wood make each one slightly different.
This batch was created before the addition of a lathe to the Gentry Crafted workshop. Each glass was shaped and hollowed using an angle grinder, drill press and motor-mounted sanding equipment, then sanded and finished by hand. Pecan is exceptionally hard and demanding to work, requiring patience and a measured pace. In some respects, this earlier shaping process was particularly well suited to the wood.
- Finish: Walnut oil, carnauba wax, and beeswax.
- Care: Hand wash only. Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Dry promptly after use.
