Hand-turned from Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) harvested in Upstate New York, this "one of one" vessel is a study in light and motion. This specific timber is prized for its luminous grain and silky texture, featuring a figure that is especially vivid. Tight, undulating curls ripple across the surface like wind over water, catching and throwing light with every shift in angle.
The stabilization process reinforces the wood’s natural structure by infusing resin under vacuum and pressure, preserving the delicate curl for a lifetime of use. Finished with a food-safe blend of polymerized walnut oil and natural waxes, the glass has a warm, radiant glow that highlights its fine detail.
