Hand-turned from Colorado Aspen (Populus tremuloides), this "one of one" vessel transforms one of North America’s most widespread hardwoods into a work of luminous art. As seen in the product images, the wood has been stabilized and infused with a warm gold dye, highlighting the soft ripples and natural chatoyance of the grain.
The stabilization process strengthens the naturally soft Aspen, preventing warping while allowing its delicate figure to take on a sun-drenched glow. The compact, sturdy form sits comfortably in the hand, its proportions balanced to showcase the movement of the grain that flows across the surface like light through a mountain meadow.
Finish: Sealed with polymerized walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax for a smooth, food-safe luster.
Care: Hand wash only. Refresh the finish occasionally with walnut oil or food-safe wood conditioner.
