The wood was sustainably harvested from a standing tree by a friend who rescues lumber across the Midwest, preserving the history of the land in every grain line.
At this larger scale, the "map-making" chaotic lines of the spalting have room to drift across the pale sycamore surface like ink on parchment. The wide open form showcases the delicate contrast between the creamy wood tones and the sharp, black zone lines created by nature. It is a substantial, one-of-a-kind centerpiece that brings the raw, organic beauty of the outdoors directly to your table.
Finish: Sealed with polymerized walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax for a smooth, food-safe luster.
