European Beech Serving Bowl (One of One) Dimensions: Approx. 4½ inches diameter × 3 inches tall
Hand-turned from European Beech (Fagus sylvatica), The Alabaster Basin has a pale, refined appearance with fine grain and subtle medullary flecks. It was made from a purchased bowl blank and is the first—and so far only—Beech piece I have turned. Working with it made me want to use Beech again.
Its compact rounded form works well as a small serving bowl and can also be used decoratively or as a catch-all.
Finished with Mahoney’s walnut oil followed by a paste wax containing walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax.
Care: Hand wash as needed and dry promptly. Do not soak or place in the dishwasher.
