Stabilized Mango Shot Glass

Dimensions: Approx. 3" tall × 2" diameter

Crafted from stabilized Mango wood sourced from Indonesia, this shot glass showcases a warm, golden grain with subtle waves and chatoyance. The wood has been infused with resin under vacuum and pressure—a process known as stabilization—which reinforces its structure and locks in visual detail, ensuring both durability and clarity.

This form is one of the few in the catalog that can be made consistently enough to stock multiple copies under the same SKU, thanks to the quality and uniformity of the Mango received to date. Some versions are hand-shaped using angle grinders and sanding blocks, while others are lathe-turned—each finished by hand with polymerized walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax.

Dan’s introduction to Mango came through a wood seller who has since become an online friend—one of many connections formed through sourcing wood and tools from individuals and small businesses across the U.S. and abroad. Mango joins a family of Indonesian-sourced woods in the catalog, including Amboyna Burl, River Tamarind Burl, Acacia, Spalted Tamarind, Nara Wood, and the lesser-known Cheese Wood.

Note: The image shown is representative. Each piece is handcrafted and may exhibit slight variations in grain waviness, coloration, or figure. These differences are part of the charm and authenticity of small-batch craftsmanship—not assembly-line uniformity.
