Hand-turned from Colorado aspen (Populus tremuloides), this vessel began as already-cut, downed wood gathered at a high-elevation location in Colorado and transported to Illinois.
The wood was stabilized through an experimental multi-dye process that produced distinct bands of color across the aspen’s pale, flowing grain. Rather than becoming uniform, each section of the wood responded differently, giving every rotation of the vessel its own character.
Its tall, gently curved form makes it a distinctive vessel for enjoying whiskey, mezcal, or another favorite spirit. This is a one-of-one piece; its combination of grain, coloring, and form will not be repeated.
